Experience

I have 12 years of experience working with young children. After work placements in Canada, I spent time as a summer student with 2-year-olds and in the preschool class at a Nursery in Bermuda. I’ve also worked at:

ACE Nursery – Infant class & 3-year-old
Woodrose 1st Steps – 3-year-olds
OUAT Chapter 2- 3-year-olds & Preschool
OUAT Chapter 1 – 3-year-olds & Preschool

I currently teach the 3-year-old class at Chapter 1.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from Ryerson University, Toronto, Canada. I am also SCARS trained and CPR & First Aid certified.

My classroom is the Creative Class! I am constantly finding new ideas to keep the children interested, eager to learn and engaged throughout the school year. I am spontaneous, a nature lover and enjoy getting messy! I love to be organized but can easily adapt to change.

Having been a very hands-on learner, particularly in Mathematics in my early school days, I tend to incorporate lots of visuals and creative resources while teaching to make learning fun.

Using the EYFS curriculum and the foundation it gives the children for learning knowledge, skills and attitudes. I enjoy working with the staff and employers.

I want to continue making use of professional development available to us. I want to ensure I am up to date with early childhood development and curriculum developments to provide the best practices for the children I care for. I would love to attend a brief conference or course in person for the upcoming school year!
