Experience

Assisted at Once Upon a Time whilst obtaining her degree. She commenced full time at Chapter Two, in September 2019.

I have been working with children since the age of 16 years old. I have helped at Once Upon a Time Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 and have gathered experience from many staff members.

I have always wanted to work with children therefore I enrolled in the Education degree at Bermuda College. I then transferred my credits to Mount Saint Vincent University and completed my Bachelor of Arts degree in Child and Youth Study with first-class honors. I did my thesis research on “Exploring the Experiences of Bermudian Graduates of the Child and Youth Study Program at Mount Saint Vincent University.” Many Bermudians have studied this program and have had positive experiences that impact the education system of Bermuda. I also have a certification in CPR & First Aid and Scars training.

I would describe myself as a very organized individual. I enjoy providing high quality learning experiences for all children. I believe in creating a rich resourceful stimulating environment for children that meets curriculum standards. I also believe that positive relationship building between a child and teacher is one of the most important things for the child to grow and learn. I enjoy planning lessons that focus on all domains of learning and coming up with creative ideas that are different for the children to experience.

I like the staff at Once Upon a Time. I feel that there is a strong sense of teamwork and communication. I have learned a lot from my coworkers and continue to learn new things every day.

In the future, I would like to get my master’s degree through an online program.
